HISTORY & CLARIFICATION
Without access to the original painters -- who would not remember a single thing about it anyway -- it is a little difficult to understand how a mix-up like this could occur. In the opening scene, where CYCLONUS and SCOURGE are ambushed in space by the Aerialbots, someone briefly misinterpreted a single constituent to be the full combined form. AIR RAID only becomes one of his legs, not even the torso. If I did full-body avatars, this would make for a much more interesting variation. As it is, AIR RAID turns into just another Transformer with a black helmet and a dark face. Even my fondness for his design is not quite enough for me to find this one particularly fascinating.
