Though not quite as trying to fashion as
OPTIMUS PRIME,
MEGATRON remains a trial of a character to capture. The no longer existing first icon sported a much-too-dark colour scheme and a slightly more rounded helmet. In fact, getting his helmet and chin right has been the greatest obstacle throughout the entire design process.
The
August 2007 version was quite good, but he needed more size to match his newly revamped counterpart, so in
2009, he was given the most definitive makeover yet.
