BEGINNINGS 1998 - 2001

SKYDIVE is one of the several icons I started on lunch breaks at work. As I was still trying to keep them all within the "infamous" 32x32 pixel boundary, those sort of bookend-like supports on the sides of his helmet took a long time to be included. He was a fairly easy one to do, the only part requiring a little more work early on being the top of his helmet. In 2001, I reworked all individual Aerialbots and Stunticons, increasing his stature and summoning forth more of a three-dimensional impression.

SECOND WIND 2007 - 2009

Still, this fella has proved to be one of the more difficult guys to provide with the sense of existing in some kind of space, but I thought he looked quite decent by 2009, even if his eyes were a smidge too much on the narrow side. Sometimes that is simply the way it goes in the world of small pixels. That is, until you enlarge the subject even more and not only save him from looking cross-eyed, but hopefully up his dignity quotient and good-natured appeal.
